Our organization has been in existence since 2009 and was the first neighborhood association to form in Whitewater. Since its inception, the association has engaged in numerous activities and initiatives to ensure the neighborhood remains safe, attractive and family-friendly. Some of our accomplishments include:

  • Recommending the installation of the traffic island on Starin Road to slow down traffic and helping with seasonal maintenance of the plantings
  • Organizing neighborhood potlucks and socials
  • Establishing boundaries and installing neighborhood signs
  • Securing passage of legislation, including the R-O Overlay Ordinance and two Chronic Nuisance Ordinances, to protect and preserve essential characteristics of a low-density, family friendly neighborhood
  • Maintaining an internet and social media presence
  • Providing HSPNA merchandise
  • Donating to the Starin Park playground
  • Building, selling and installing rain barrels
  • Working closely with the Wisconsin Main Street non-profit to strengthen the connection
  • between historic downtown Whitewater and our historic neighborhood
  • Working closely with the city to protect Ash trees and advocating for new tree plantings
